Scripts are written in text for a Hypnosis Therapist to use to as a guide for specific issues during hypnosis sessions with a client.
Most hypnosis professionals never read directly from a script - they use them as an outline and interject their own words. They tailor the approach to the specific client and having a script that has already been written by another professional can be very useful. Most Hypnotherapists can easily write their own scripts but this can be time consuming, so having a pre-written script in hand can come in pretty handy. Sometimes another Hypnotist's script can contain ideas or angles that may offer alternate or additional approaches to a common issue.
Scripts can also be used in Self Hypnosis for someone who is attempting to resolve a specific issue. They read it into a recording and then they would listen to it over and over. However, most people who know enough to do self-hypnosis could probably write their own script. Many people who do self-hypnosis learn it from a one on one session with a Hypnotist. Once you have been hypnotized, you can be programmed to allow yourself to go into the trace state anytime you want and when you are in that state you can give yourself helpful instructions to make changes in your life.
